Dana Point's music store since 1987

From a single storefront in Dana Point, we've grown into a full-service music store with a team of over 20 instructors, technicians, and musicians who've made this place their home.

Dan Lefler

Our founder

In 1999, Dan Lefler noticed the space attached to the Stillwater restaurant was vacant. He proposed a lease, and on a handshake, Danman's Music School was born. A performer, educator, and lifelong musician, Dan had already played over 5,000 live shows and built a loyal following in the Dana Point community before opening the doors. What started as a one-teacher operation has since grown into the full-service music store and school you see today.

Our home

A building with a history

Built in the early 1920s as the headquarters and community center for Sidney H. Woodruff's planned Dana Point development, this cedar and cinder block building has had many lives. It previously served as a warehouse, a garage, an antique shop, and a restaurant before becoming home to Dana Point Music. Over a hundred years later, it's still standing on the corner of Del Prado and Golden Lantern.
